Five months before the commencement of the final placement season, the Faculty of Management Studies (FMS) campus is abuzz with pre-placement offers (PPOs).
The 2007 batch of 90 students has already got offers from companies like Tata Administrative Services (TAS), GE Money, Hindustan Lever Limited, Maruti Udyog Ltd as well as HSBC, which offered the highest domestic salary of Rs. 14.5 lakh on campus last year.
While 22 pre-placement offers were made last year, FMS faculty and students expect the number to be much higher this year.
Cross functionality is the buzzword, with HLL making offers for both their niche global leadership trainee profile as well as commercial operations. Companies like Edelweiss Capital and ICICI Prudential have also announced pre-placement interviews.
Madhu Vij, placement advisor, MBA, FMS, says, "Our students have once again proved to the outside world (that) the quality of education and intense learning environment at FMS are exceptional."
With almost every student who had interned with a company receiving an offer, the stage seems to be set for the summer placements of 2006.
